DAILY ITINERARY
Day 1 – DEPART
ONTARIO
For our first day we travel past Montreal and all the
way to DRUMMONDVILLE / ST. HYACITHE, Quebec for our overnight
accomodation.
Day 2 –
FREDERICTON
We depart our hotel and make our journey across Quebec
and into New Brunswick for our overnight in the beautiful
Capital city of FREDERICTON.
Day 3 –
CHARLOTTETOWN
Today we travel on to Moncton and then spend some time
at Magnetic Hill and later, cross over the Confederation Bridge
that joins the provinces of New Brunswick and Prince Edward
Island. We soon arrive at our accommodations in the
CHARLOTTETOWN area. Tonight we include a delicious lobster
dinner.
Day 4 –
NORTH SYDNEY
This morning we depart P.E.I. by ferry from Wood Island
over to Nova Scotia. This afternoon, we reach Cape Breton
Island and include a visit to Rita's Tea House. Later we
arrive in NORTH SYDNEY where we spend two nights.
Day 5 –
THE CABOT TRAIL
It takes a full day to enjoy the breathtaking scenery
on our tour around the Cabot trail. Today we also include
a visit to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum.
Day 6 –
CORNERBROOK
We depart Cape Breton Island and travel to board our
cruise over to Port Aux Basques, in Newfoundland. We will
spend the night in CORNERSBROOK. OUR 10 DAY AIR PASSENGERS
WILL BE JOING US TODAY.
Day 7, 8 & 9 –
ST. ANTHONY AND ROCKY HARBOUR
More scenic travel continues through the Province, past
Deer Lake and then we travel into Gros Morne National park. On
these three days our accomodations are in the areas of ST.
ANTHONY and ROCKY HARBOUR. Much awaits us, as our travel
will take us to board the ferry at St. Barbe, for the short sail
across the Strait of Belle Island to the Labrador-Quebec
boundary, at BlancSablon. We reboard our coach and travel
into LABRADOR to Red Bay and later to ouir accomodations for one
night. The next day we return to Newfoundland to explore
L'Anse au Meadows National Historic Site, passing by Nameless
cove and on past Eddies cove and then inland across the top of
the great Northern Peninsula to Viking Country, where the
Vikings established the first European settlement in North
America about 1000 years ago. All in all, three days you
will long remember.
Day 10 –
GRAND FALLS / GANDER
Today our journey takes us into the interior of
Newfoundland and we're heading for GRAND FALLS / GANDER, for our
overnight. We will drive out to Twillingate, via
Lewisporte, Cambelton, Birchy Bay, and Summerford, oftern called
the "Road to the Isles"/ We will visit the Twillingate
Museum to see artifacts dating back to the 19th and early 20th
century and we will visit Long Point Lighthouse, built in 1876.
It's a great place to see iceburgs in July. We will also
visit the aviation Museum at Gander.
Day 11 –
CLARENVILLE
Departing the hotel, our travel takes us on the
Eastport Peninsula, the oldest settlement in the Eastport
Region. We will travel through Terra Nova National Park
and, while taking the routing to Bonavista, we visit the site
where John Cabot landed and discovered the New World and spend
some time in Trinity, prior to arrival at our overnight
accommodations in CLARENVILLE.
Day 12, 13 &
14 – ST. JOHN'S
Today we travel on the Trans Canada Highway and soon
arrive in ST. JOHN'S, Newfoundland. We will spend three
nights here. During our days, we will take a tour which
includes Signal Hill, the pPort and Old St. John's. There
are churches, museums, historical sites, as well as the cultural
Center, art galleries, libraries and a magnificent Center for
the Performing Arts. There will be a free day for you to
enjoy St. John's.
Day 15– PORT
AUX BASQUES
Our air passengers fly home today and we will continue
our tour, travelling back through Newfoundland. Our
destination is PORT AUX BASQUES, on the Cabot Strait.
Day 16– NEW
GLASGOW
Today we board the Marine Atlantic Feerry and sail back
to Cape Breton and then on to NEW GLASGOW, for our overnight.
Day 17–
RIMOUSKI
We depart and travel into New Brunswick, passing by
Moncton and Bathurst, into Quebec. We will spend the night
in RIMOUSKI.
Day 18–
MONTREAL
Today we follow the Seaway Trail to Quebec City, where
we take a little time to browse and enjoy lunch on your own.
After this stop we continue to MONTREAL for our last night away
from home.
Day 19– HOME
Having had a fantastic holiday, all the way to Canada's
furthest Eastern point in Newfoundland, we must depart and
continue all the way home.
